A Passion Flower Awakes

It reminds me of a kiwi. Cut up. Its particular depth is integrated on the inside with tiny blue threads linking it together. All within an envelope of pedals. The vine that carries it climbs.

Lunch in the patio garden was a farm fresh salad, literally picked before us with fresh basil and baked salmon.

We ate in contemplated silence.

“I wanted the Passion Flower to open for you,” Mum said staring in the distance.

I glanced to the deck’s divider wall. A friend and neighbour lives on the other side. A sign reads: “Welcome to Alice’s Garden, Nurturing God’s Creation.” It hung faded and weathered. The wood aged with time. The words stuck on in a fancy font were green and blended with the surrounding foliage. Dad had had the sign made custom for mum on her birthday years ago. It was smothered with hanging greens. Underneath it, the trestle of leaves. Parent to the Passion Flower.

Below that, pots of glorious herbs.  Oregano, thyme, sage, rosemary, parsley. All robust and ripe for the picking.

Mum’s garden is elegant. Adult in growth. The roses pinch through, pinks, oranges and yellow. Small concrete cast ornaments nestle in a home amongst the flowering. While I feel so inept to recall all of their names, the many plants that flourish grace in colour. Regal in texture. Everything has found its place together.

Alice's wonderful patio garden.
We piled the now clear dishes into the basket. Bound for the kitchen. With time to idle, we basked in the glory of this wondrous patio garden. Private, quaint and ever so beautiful.

Like my mum. I’ve never seen her without lipstick. Wherever she goes the lips lead. Pink or red. Following by further dashes of colour in whatever wardrobe she chose for the day.

The sun was hot. While we shaded under the umbrella, the afternoon sun and its heat began to seep through.

All of a sudden mum pointed her finger.

“Look!” She glares over to me with her mouth wide open. Disbelief reads her face. “The Passion Flower!”

It’s true. There it was. Opening up to it’s new day.

Look closely to see the one pedal, yet to open.
“Can you believe it?” she said again.

I crept close to get a picture. One of its pedal’s still asleep. I took a picture anyway.

Then mum came over. As if a child in a candy store she stood in front of it and leaned in to get closer. As she did the final pedal awakened to a complete and alive Passion Flower!

Ready for it's new day.
Mum had asked for it! Was it the power of her mind? Was it the sun caressing its new day? Who’s to know for sure. What I believe, and this I know to be true. If you don’t ask for what you want, may never get it.

As is so true today, the universe conspires to help to those who dare to ask.

Welcome to Alice's Garden. Nurturing God's Creation.

The Law of Spirit

Trust. Sometimes it’s intuition. Other times it’s following maybe a certain guideline.
Often I hear people speak about the Law of Attraction.
What we put out there, in manner, voice and attitude – comes back to us. Contemplated by the Universe.
So goes the manner of the law. Abide, do good. You’re ok.
But instead of being the strong arm, I heard yesterday the best version.
To follow the law of spirit.

Passing Time

Eliminated by night. We sleep.
As darkness awakes, we flood the gates.
Joy, sorrow - grief whatever awaits.
Tempted by fate our Universe dictates.
What does the soul crave today?
A crossing to bear for the most awesomeness day we can spare!
It’s up to us to set the pace.
To enlighten the way.
Which way in our day?
Hope knows the path. For the love to fill the heart.
Cope with the moments with glee and with smiles and glad thoughts.
The power of now is that point in time.
Phase through the enigmas of despair.
Enhance the occasions for laughter and play.
Dialed by day, the sun scopes forlorn. Remember. Alone you are not. Forever and not now.
Like the fleeting age of a storm.
Count on the instances of fun!
A cursory departure of senses may frighten you now.
For the day when it is gone is lost in all time.
Till the light glooms the shadows of the slumber era due.
We’ve moved another clock. Twenty-four hours again.
To another day passing time.

The Universe Dictates

When things come easy go with it. Eventually what you want and put out there will gel, like butter. Smooth. It will all come together.
My pal the Holistic Sailor nailed it. Resistance with what is won’t get you anywhere. Go where you’re guided. Where the Universe tells you.
Subliminal messaging. Timing. The planets line up. Or is it your heart? What you think, speak, feel, motion.
I connect with a young and talented camera-man who I worked with years ago. We linked up on Facebook. So we meet-up. It works out for today. I’m booked to attend the Social Media Club evening. We go together.
Tangled webs of coincidences ensue. Over and over again. The Universe spoke.
The Universe dictates.

Vision Boards

When someone mentions to me the Law of Attraction my instincts rise up and ignite a smile. That person is connected.
It was through idle chatter in the laundry room one evening last year when I first met my neighbour and friend, The Holistic Sailor.
She calmly listened as I blurted out my antiquated life history of the last year. Lost the Corporate job through lay-off. Bolted back to Victoria to be close to my son again. Not sure where the future will take me now.
In her calm reassuring voice she said something to the affect, “Well you’ll just have to put it out there to the Universe. You know, the Law of Attraction.”
Of course I’ve read The Secret and the Law of Attraction. I’d made my vision board which resulted in the high paying Corporate job. But I hadn’t bothered with one lately.
Until last night. I had piled up some clippings from magazines and advertisements. Words and phrases that seemed to bridge my heart and soul with joy. I got out the glue and scissors and stuck it all down on white cardbourd. Before I went to bed I stuck it under my computer for the night so things could stick down flat.
When I awoke this morning and fled out the door for my early morning bike ride I didn’t think about it. Till I returned. With a day off to play I unpacked it from under the computer and stood it up for viewing.
The top line reads If You Could Do Anything, What Would You Do?

Tangled Thoughts

Tempted to stop thinking. Sometimes there is no point. You can’t always change what is. Perfectly fine to accept things though. Probably something called destiny? Perhaps.
During my second viewing of the Men Who Stare at Goats I took pen and paper and jotted down some thoughts. Can we control life or does life control us?
I know what I know. This is me here I am. Like it, or not.
A showcase of thoughts without answers… Rambled reflections.
Dreams may manifest but it’s the heart that dictates the reasoning. Or does it? Should I go there and do this or that or not. If it feels right – do it!
Truly, the point is do we do what the universe tells us? Then the river runs to it? Can we let go of the temptations and lust for what should be? Is it right or is it wrong? Who said it must be and we must do that?
You do. No one else.
What if exists. Here’s how:
The future is yet unborn, the past is old and dead, the only time is now.
Time to carry on and listen to thy heart.
