Blue Collar, White Collar – Yellow Collar?

Had a conversation today, which brought about a bit of a gap.
We were speaking about the employment of a couple we know. Both happened to be in the blue collar sector.
That begged my question.
If you’re not a white collar, say office worker – nor a blue collar say labouror… then what are you?
Say you’re an artist. What collar colour does that make you?
Had a knee slapper the other day when my sink was plugged and I complained about it to my mother (aged 74), she replied by text with, “Ask the experts… Google.”
Of course tonight when I Googled white collar workers, I thought for fun maybe an artist would be a purple collar worker.
Not so.
Apparently a purple collar refers to someone who sells marijuana.
A red collar worker is someone in China.
Which left in my mind a yellow collar
Bingo!
Yes, yellow collars are for us creative types.
So you know.

Technology and Creativity

Given I’m technologically challenged and irreverent when it comes to reading instructions, I think I’m doing pretty good.
In catching up to technology that is. Although from what I hear, as soon as I do - it will change.
Which makes me laugh.
But given once you know it, in most cases it’s transferable. Here’s hoping I’ll be OK.
Frequently, I’ve been heard to say in the middle of class, “That is so cool!”
We’re shown something on a screen on the wall. In front of us our very own computer.
Yet, when it comes to trying it by myself – well, I’m still learning.
Today I set out to finish my lamp-post banner design in Illustrator. A program completely new to me. The images floated around in my head. A colour palette came alive. Then I made my first, then second, then third, then fourth of which I later lost track of – attempts to formulate said design in my head.
No where. I was lost.
Back over to Google. The Idea Refinery. Seeking out tutorials. A classmate offered to assist. Yeah!
Then someone sent me and email and it was time to leave the school.
Technology and creative – yes they do go hand in hand. Just seems one is slightly easier then the other.

Dancing With Life

This morning at Hollyhock

The Universe took as us places today. Through tears and group hugs to sparks of laughter and shards of pain.
You are Seen.
You are Known.
You are Loved.
These words hung on the white board.
Each moment that passed shed truths, joy and some sorrow.
“Everything that comes up, comes up for healing,” affirmed SARK.
We’re on day three of our workshop so named Succulent Wild Wisdom. In the chatter amongst our circle, some of life’s hurts became revealed.
“By having other eyes and hearts on it we can see it differently,” SARK adds.
There became certainty in our full moon. Lids opened. Hearts sang. Relief was shared.
As each of us wondered off for our own time in the afternoon I digested more of SARK's words.
“What matters is that we feel good as often as possible. What matters is that we practice forgiveness.”
Wise Sherry and I had agreed to pay visit to a fellow participant in her home. In doing so we visited her hill top art studio. As we sat down to banter we heard a cry. Unsure if it was real, we tuned in tighter. It was real. The door opened quietly with Wise Sherry leading the way. It wasn’t a cry it was a howl. It was loud. It was close. Goosebumps rose up.
Wise Sherry stumbled briefly onto the eyes of a lone black wolf. We ventured back. What is the spirit world telling us we ask each other?
Later we Google wolf spirit meaning. We find teacher.
I think to myself, are we all teachers of life? Dancing with life.
